Team Profile - Glenn Smith

One of our most well know, loved (and liked) team members is Smitty G!

Smitty has been around Mic'd Music since the beginning, he has been able to see the good, the bad, and the ugly and has chosen to stick with us through it all. If you have talked with him you know that this man has more wisdom in his pinky finger then most people have in general! He was and has been a huge help to us and our team during the last 2 years and has done more for us than I can share in one post. His knowledge on instruments has come in handy more times than I can count, and even when he's wrong, he is quick to learn and change his opinion.

Now he does not like us talking about him so lets get to business. Smitty has been teaching music for over 20 years. His teaching style is simple and focused. He uses music, specifically the style of music you like, to help you learn the basics and the chords. While you work on the songs, he will teach you fundamentals, proper hand positions, theory and more, all in a safe, fun environment. Once you have mastered the songs, he will throw in hard songs, or jams to help you grow in your knowledge and comfort. One of his goals is for every student to be able to play in a Jam, band, open mic night or church with confidence.

Smitty Plays in several bands, and also has lead our Music Jams at the store. He knows how to play Bass, Acoustic, Electric, Mandolin and Ukulele, and I hear he has a desire to learn Banjo, so someone needs to give him a good reason to learn how!

He teaches students 10 years old and up and his flexible schedule gives him freedom to work around your schedule and not his. If you have a child younger than 10 who you think is ready for lessons, don't hesitate to contact him or bring them by the shop. We will do a short evaluation to get an idea of where they are at.

We are so thankful for Smitty and know that you will love him as your teacher! Next time you are at the shop stop in and say Hi to him. And if your interested in lessons jump over to our contact page to get started!
